What is Scar and Stretch Mark Camouflage?

In the past, very little has been available to treat and heal stretch marks and minimise the appearance of scars. The creation of the Camouflage Tattoo treatment has changed that!

Camouflage tattoo is the process of tattooing skin discolouration using a skin tone ink or pigment to match the healthier part of the skin.

‘Scar camouflage’ is also known as ‘Paramedical tattooing’, ‘Stretch mark camouflage’ and ‘inkless camouflage’.

Nue Conceal represents a system that has incorporated the art of camouflage tattoos, the science of colour theory and the technology of intelligent colour analysing with Nue Conceal’s revolutionary Skin Tone Reader device and app.

Nue Conceal is currently the only skin tone pigment range with the valuable integrity CE certification and Europe’s strict REACH certification.

What is the difference between Permanent and Semi-Permanent Camouflage Tattoo?

79%* of all Camouflage Artists prefer to use the ‘Permanent’ technique.

That method houses pigments in the second layer of the skin (also called the dermis) where there is no cell renewal, so the pigments are not expunged as easily… think body art tattoo.

By using this permanent technique, the camouflage tends to last longer… HOWEVER, going deeper holds serious risks.

As you get older, your skin produces less melanin, and your skin will lighten over the years as you age. Your natural skin colour changes over time, roughly every ten years.

Subsequently, the pigment formerly inserted deeper in the skin may not have the same appearance as the natural skin tone colour as it ages.

Meaning the semi-permanent method is best suited to age with you.

On the other hand, the Non Permanent technique, i.e., Nue Conceal, may only last up to 3+ years. But, the benefits of why semi-permanent is best for you in the long term outweigh the shorter lifespan.

PLEASE NOTE:  the Non Permanent technique used by Nue Conceal means that as your skin lightens (naturally) over the years, your camouflage can lighten with you at your touch-up appointments. As you age, your camouflage ages with you; it will now be the correct skin tone colour for you.

How can I be sure the colour will match my skin tone?

Nue Conceal has developed the first-of-its-kind device that reads your skin tone and transmits the data into the Nue app. The patented device reads a person's skin tone. The numerical reading of the colour space will then be submitted to the app via calibration; the app then gives accurate pigment suggestions. This process reduces the time spent in colour matching and ensures a seamless camouflage result while minimizing human error.

A revolutionary tool for eliminating the fears of choosing the wrong colours for camouflage.

Is Scar and Stretch Mark Camouflage right for me?

You may be a good candidate for paramedical tattooing if:

  • You wish to conceal surgical scars, childhood scars, hypopigmentation, white patches, stretch marks, self-harm scars, acne scars, transition scars, skin grafts, burns and vitiligo.

  • If you specifically want to conceal the appearance of a scar, your scar should be:

  • Fully healed and no longer pink or changing colour

  • Without dark edges

  • Relatively flat (slightly raised and rough scars will require pre-treatment with LED)

If you specifically want to conceal stretch marks, they should be:

  • Over two years old

  • White/silver in colour

What is the Skin Preparation Treatment?
Paramedical Tattooing Perth. Cosmetic Tattoo. Scar Camouflage. Stretch Mark Treatment. Southern River. Canning Vale. Piara Waters. Applecross. Leeming

The results obtained with this skin preparation protocol are a shorter healing time and greatly improved, consistent results. It is essential to prepare your skin before any scar, stretch mark, inkless or camouflage treatment as the skin is already ‘damaged’, and this does help to achieve a better healing result. Imagine painting a wall with cracks and build-up of old paint; The result won’t be as pleasing as it would when painted on a smooth, prepped surface. The same is true for camouflage tattooing. If we simply add colour to damaged skin, the result will be an uneven, rough-looking texture.

Camouflage tattoo with LED skin preparation is a process, but a very effective one and well worth it for the best outcome of your camouflage.

What happens to my camouflage if I get a tan?

It is important to avoid the sun on the treatment area for a certain time before the treatment so we can accurately match your natural skin tone and after the treatment, to avoid HYPERPIGMENTATION, meaning the treated area turns permanently brown.

Is it safe, are there any risks?

Nue Conceal carries the finest medical-grade permanent makeup products on the market. These products are FDA compliant and CE certified, therefore made to deliver exceptional results.

While being safe and cautious, we can not rule out the possibility of some risks.

The technique of camouflage tattoo causes minor traumas within the skin (we need this as this is what creates the healing), so this must be kept clean and not exposed to situations where bacteria can invade. Your aftercare routine is explained during the consultation and after your camouflage treatment.

In addition, although rare, allergic reactions to the colour component used in the procedure may also occur. Choosing a good Camouflage professional is fundamental because an improper procedure can cause excess trauma, scarring and infection.

How many sessions will I need?

Typically 1-3 sessions are required, comprised of either BOTH inkless and Camouflage or one or the other.

Skin Preparation sessions: 1-3 sessions over 2-4 weeks. Approximately two skin preparation sessions are required; however, there is no sure way to predict the exact number of sessions needed until we can see your skin and feel the texture of your skin to best estimate for you.

Severe scars and stretch marks may require a more individualised plan with additional LED Skin preparations and more Camouflage treatments.

Is it painful?

Tattooing the stretch marks may cause slight discomfort. The average client comfort level ranges between 2 (on a scale of 1 being the lowest level and 10 being the highest level of discomfort).

How much does it cost?

Prices will be based on size of the area to be treated so pricing will vary per person.

Accurate quote will be given in Consultation. Pricing can range from $299 for small scars to $1950 for multiple large scars or large areas with stretch marks, We offer discounted packages for treatment plans including LED Skin preparation and multiple treatments of inkless and/or camouflage
